Bob's 1940 Oldsmobile restoration
(Mouse-over Image to Pause)
This is not Bob's 1940 Olds Phaeton. It is the only other example of the car, now residing in the Oldsmobile transportation museum in Lansing, Michigan.
This is how Bob found the car, before any work begins.
With the body off and on a rotisserie, you can see a lot of work ahead.
With the body off, the frame will get stripped and panted.
The body is cross braced while the holes are filled and panels replaced.
The engine was completely disassembled and layed out for restoration.
With the internals rebuilt, the assembled engine gets a new coat of paint.
The motor is put back in to the freshly painted frame.
With an alternate fuel tank and spare battery, the motor is ready for a test run. Without a radiator, it's a very short test.
